FBC

Interestingly, my blood test shows i have low normal haemoglobin count 12.1 (Normal: 12-16) and low rbc count. Is this caused by my daily epitaxis?

The nurse who took my blood was kinda rough. When she used the alcohol swab, she rubbed so hard tt there was petechial rash at the cubital fossa! She was wearing gloves but after she put on the tourniquet, she handed rubbish and a vomit bag before coming back to me with the same glove. By this time, i believe the tourniquet has been applied for far too long.

But thankfully, cos of chemical path lecture, i now know tt since my doctor isnt interested in the serum electrolytes. it shouldnt matter, right?

Anyway, when my hb is low, i think the lab tech went on to do peripheral blood film and reported tt my rbcs were largely normocytic and normochromic rbc.

Eeepc Blogging

I rmbr that previously, i was all excited abt blogging on the go with my Palm Treo. It didnt happen that much actually cos my Palm treo inherently didnt come with wifi. Though it was possible with the wifi card i bought, it was honestly qt a hassel.

Eeepc is different! i´m waiting at YIH now for health&wellness centre to open and i had this urge to blog abt rain:)



It just started to rain.. i rmbr when i was young, i used to be so amazed by rain! Where did so much water come from? Y´know, i actually once believed that whenever it rains, it was god who was flushing his toilet bowl or showering :) Qt funny, now tt i think abt this ;)

I believe that u can smell rain. But for some reason, it smells of morning dew on grass to me! I rmbr how i liked it when i was able to tell my pri sch friends that the rain was coming not just from the darker sky :)

I´m feeling happy after blogging on my eeepc :) Hope it is just only the beginning of a happy day!

If suhan hasn't reminded me of this favourite character from Wall-E, i wouldnt have realised that i found that character really funny and i didnt mention him in my post last week!

I forgot what the character was called, so i searched for it online and i actually found out a lot about the movie!

If u intend to watch the movie, maybe it is wiser if u stop reading here. cos i dont not know if what i'm going to say are going to be spoilers. If u liked the movie, maybe we may share the same sentiment!

Meet M-O




M-O [Microbe-Obliterator] is a hilarious robot that has OCD. I loved his warning message and catchphrase, "foreign contaminant". It was really funny how he was annoyed by the amount of filth on Wall-e and he will be busy cleaning all the time!

I realised that Wall-e stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class. How cute! Picture of wall-e with the starry sky backdrop is still my desktop picture :)

It's so guessable why i like this picture. I realise i havent been playing with my cube that much lately!

Someone asked me if this is the best PIXAR film i've seen. I realise its really difficult to make a comparison cos my memories of other animations are really fuzy.

I guess i can only say that Wall-e is one of its kind. It's a wonderfully inventive, and whimsical sci-fi animation :)

I'd watch it again anytime.

Since i took a picture for a fren, i shall take the opportunity to post a pic of my new toy EeePC!



The flower stickers were left over from my paeds posting, actually the best i could find to 'zhng' my pc. I believe i can find something nicer, perhaps something more sophisticated.

Anyone has any suggestions?

ENT problems

My nose bled on the very same day i told wenhui that i havent had epitaxis for the longest time i could remember. Did it happen just because i'm doing my ENT posting?

My nose use to bleed very frequently in the past and it would soak countless tissues till my dustbin overflows. I rmbr i couldnt go to sch when i was kindergarten once cos my nose just couldnt stop bleeding, my parents brought me to A&E once cos i was bleeding non-stop like a waterfall. It makes me wonder what is the cause really.. Is it caused by poor platelet count?





Anyway, i've just started to use these 2 things. Today when i just use the paraffin wax on one side, the other side bled. When i stopped the bleeding on that side, the other side started to bleed! Why on earth am i having bilateral epitaxis???

Cotton Tips by the way are very bad for digging ears. If have been doing so and havent had any probs. It's wise that u stop! Cotton tips actually impact ur ear wax more than cleaning the ear canal. And i'm very sure u dont want ur doctor to remove a huge impacted chunk of ur ear wax with fungi growing on it!

ANYWAY, if u're a fan of earphone/headphones, i hope u can reconsider it after reading abt how much harm it can cause u!

Last wk, i had a hearing test done at TTSH. The result (esp at high frequency) was pretty awesome!





I can hear 8KHz below 0 dB. BTW, 0 dB doesnt mean no sound! So i was told that prebycusis for me will probably start later.

GUESS what happened after using my earphones for 1+ hr at my grandma's house when i tried to distract myself from the hokkien show she was watching.

My earphones were the softest possible sound on my Treo, but admittedly it was still a little loud for my liking. But no choice la..



I now have early sign of Noise-induced hearing loss :( The audiometrist recommended that i get my hearing tested again after 2 wks and hopefully the dip of my hearing threshold will be like my previous report!

Today my cg mates joked that i'd be very gd at picking up ESM but damn lousy at picking up MDM. Since my lower frequency hearing is poorer, please forgive me if i cannot hear u. Maybe u're voice pitch is lower than my optimal hearing range :)

Thanks to bean for the lovely video she sent to my facebk inbox :) It's an advertising video by j.crew label and it was filmed in prague!



Although the video didnt show the touristy parts of Prague, i liked it for the dandelions, the song and every little thing that reminded me of my europe trip with the hwachong people :)

The video actually reminded me that i didnt find prague that fantastic. It was too touristy for me. But at the back of my mind, i do remember some pretty parts of the city. Perhaps i'd love it the next time i go there, esp if with a better camera!

Happy Saturday

It's been a while since i had such a good Saturday!

One of the highlights of the day was watching Wall-e. It was a pixar film that had very little proper conversation.. but i really liked it!

Then Kendrick treated me to Sun with Moon :) I was so happy that i finally got to try the toufu cheesecake :) I liked it cos the toufu substitute they used for part of the cheese require in a cheesecake added a very likeable lightness to the cake.

Reasons to Be Happy

Today is a happy dayyy :)

I met some friends i have not seen in a gazillion years!

On my way to meet my friends, i saw this portrait i like a lot


This photo doesnt do justice to it cos u need a close up pic to see the texture of the padi field :) Maybe i like it cos it's so green too.

When pple all said they'd be late, i decided to find a seat and treat myself to a cup of Teh-C.



I was drinking tea, waiting for frens to come and watch the crazy weekend crowd walk by :)

RGS Prefects gathering was at Aerin's :)
I wasnt that hungry so i only ordered Brushchetta. I expected it to be better cos i've had better Bruschetta :) In general, the service, food presentation and taste of other dishes my friends ordered were all good!





We then moved off to this green tea place which i wanted to try some time ago.
Drinks werent fantastic, but i tried a mini-forkful of the cheesecake with red bean. It was surprisingly gd! I'm sure kendrick will like it :)







Also,
I'm now a proud owner of Asus eeepc 901 :)

I cant ask for more reasons to be happy today :)
