vitamin d
|i love this pic| Two of my favourite colours, together!
Anyway, it's been soo hot lately that i really don't feel like leaving any air-con room i'm in. It's really ironic cos i'm actually not an air-con person. But come to think about it, I dont blame the sun actually, i think it's probably the heat that rise from the conrete / roads that's killing me! Argh...
Well, to everyone else complaining about the weather, do step out and let the sunbeam fall on you. I was reminded today that it helps ur body to produce vitamin D :)

danke schön
i had an amazing week! To people who were very much part of it, a BIG thank you!!! You know who you are!!! -grin-
Anyway, i realise i havent been posting photos for a while. I got reminded of the existence of this photo at ystdy's farewell:) It's so gd to see the doctors with their families. There were soo many children around! Those who were big enough were running all about; those who just started to walk were trying to keep up with the running children by dragging their daddies or mommies along and those who cant walk just sat in their parents' arms wide-eyed in curiosity, confusion and amusement. Whoa.. just picture that in mind.. what a sight isnt it? :)
I was just thinking, these children are going to grow up knowing a lot about medicine, knowing a lot of friends whose parents are doctors and some of them becoming doctors themselves. They have the family background which i dont. They may be fortunate but isnt the position each one of us are occupying unique? For that, we're probably "fortunate" in our own ways. I recently told a friend that i'm so thankful to be born in singapore, into this family and not somewhere in Zimbabwe. On second thoughts, if i were in Zimbabwe, there'd probably things i can be thankful for. It's all a relative thing... i rmbr reading a report on how the happiest pple live in Nigeria. If pple there who are struggling to survive can find reasons to smile and make the best of everyday, shouldnt we be ashamed of our frequent grumbles like bad internet connection? Hmm.. sometimes i wonder if everyone would be happier if they only focus on things that are really essential and important to them :) What do you think?
I hope i'll have many more "gd weeks" to come :D There's so many things i'm looking forward to doing before my uni term starts. Heard my department is shorthanded and i'll be posted back in May... Things will be different in 3 weeks!!!

Reality
Just when i was abt to fall asleep, i realised i forgot to check for driving lesson slots today. No choice, so i pulled myself outa bed and came back online again. I realise i wont be driving for more than a mth btwn 23/4 and 29/5, thanks to very enthusiatic learner drivrs who book their lessons 2 mths ahead -lol- I hope i wont have to start from scratch on 29/5 :(
I printed out calendar for mid april-early july. Some of the things i put onto my calendar makes me sooo excited -grin- i'm looking fwd to a gd last few mths of my break :)
I bought 2 cds from chinatown today. I quite like this song called Reality. Play it if u're curious!

there for me
||sth classical again :)|| Sarah brightman's voice is so powerful...Heard this song and thought it sounded nice. I couldnt understand some parts of it at first, but the translation made me like it even more. I've always thought original text will always be more beautiful. Wish i knew someone who knows italian! :)
Se non sei con me, mi sembra grigia la città
Camminando solo i piccoli vedo giocar
Volti e voci del passato che non ricordavo più
Mi chiedono
When you're feeling cold and all the city streets are grey
Walking all along and watching how the children play
Voices in the wind and faces from the past go dancing by
They're asking why.
[reminds me so much of the evenings spent strolling along the streets in uk (:]
Dimmi quanto tempo ancora resterai con me
Dimmi quante cose mi nascondi dentro te
Molti sogni abbiamo che alfin potremmo vivere
Can you really want me more for than a little while?
What are the stories hiding there behind your smile?
Wishes in a dream and figures in a world that I could share
[the part abt stories behind each smile? is usually one of my first few thoughts when i meet someone for the first time]
I like the above translated lines.

This Week!
I'm getting a feeling that i'm really going to love this week! Now that the starting up of my new work's over, i finally have the time and energy to meet and have fun with some pple. Met up with a much loved old friend ystdy and it was sooo fun catching up. It felt so good to see him, see him happy, find out his plans and catch up with some of the friends we have in common. Sometimes i wish i can do this more often, but then again if that happens will i appreciate each outing as much? :)
Department farewell for the MOs this weekend. Heard they planned Frisbee, other ball games, KTV and even catered Indian dinner. Sounds like a lot of fun, though i'm not the KTV type:) It's a pretty exciting thought to see all the all-time serious doctors have fun! Can't Wait!
Hope this week is only a beginning of my less work-oriented u-turn. It's not that i havent been enjoying myself working hard but in retrospect, past 2 weeks could have been happier if had expected less, be contented with what i've got and cared less abt things tt's beyond my control. Also, i should be thankful for the lessons this job has been teaching me.
I cant wait to move on.. cant wait to say gd bye to things that stole my :), cant wait to start anew.
wish i am being appreciated more stimes..

...
sometimes i just wonder if i did right
sometimes i just wonder if i did right
sometimes i just wonder if i did right
Growing Old Together
"Nothing is more beautiful than the love that has weathered the storms of life." I learnt this from the gentle old couples I met today. grasping each other's wrinkled palms, lovingly teasing each other, walking each slow step with arms entwined, they were so happy! aren't they lucky? to find someone to grow old with, have children with, the whole perfect picture with a golden retriever and even matching jogging suits :)
when you say you love me
|Josh Groban| I've always had a pleasant liking for this genre of music, but i'm certainly listening to more of it lately :) Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Sarah Brghtman, Charlotte Church and Becky Taylor is just to name a few. I like them all!
Anyway, i really love this song. Take some time to read the lyrics, it'd even be better to listen to the song. It's amazing!
Also from Josh Groban's song, there was this line that says,"Each restless heart beats so imperfectly". Makes me wonder if it's possible for two hearts to beat like one.

I've always thought Michael Bublé has a really good voice. This is a song i happen to chance upon which i quite like. Hmm... Click to listen :)
This song reminds me of pple studying aboard who are looking fwd to fly back!
I'm sure they miss Home :)

bad terrible horrible day
i havent felt this way for the longest time. It's certainly very unlike me to be so upset or disappointed, let alone to feel a combination of both. Amongst all the terrible events tt happened today, the worst is my little piglet's passing. It's not that i wasn't prepared, but it's just so painful to watch her final moments. I hope she has somewhere to go and somewhere safe and beautiful to call home.
Was watching Turn Left. Turn Right, i still prefer the book :) Those of you who havent read Jimmy's books, you should just flip thru a few of them and u'll understand why i like his bks so much! I have almost the full series, can always borrow from me! :)
