going bananas!

|I am Crazy| A wish fulfilled, at last! It's been forever since i last baked and i cant believe how excited i still can get when i hear the oven produce that long-awaited "DING!!!" Baked Banana Chocolate Loaf today. Thx to the unique discription of time in my new recipe... i wouldnt have attempted to bake this if i hadn't been tricked to think that the cake was easy and quick to prepare... Haha.."Takes only 30min" was the only comment i saw and i didnt know it was just the preparation time. -lol- I almost flipped when i read the last line after i prepared the batter. "Bake in oven for at least 1hr 20min" Everyone thinks i'm crazy to bake at this hour.. but it's unintended.. really :)
Anyway, i took some pics of my loaves after 2hrs of suspense.. Doesnt look too fantastic but hopefully the taste will justify the time i spent on them :)

The proper way to cool your cake... [i had fun taking photos!-lol-]

Family loaf - Cool the cake in tin for 30 mins

Baby loaf - Cool the cake in tin for 20 mins

Remove cake from tin ... Be gentle with the baking paper!

Carefully peel of the baking paper

Ready to be served!

a lot about June

|Foxtrot Social Nite| Oh dear.. havent been in much of a mood to type lately. Hmm.. since everyone knows about my bad memory, i might as well do myself a favour in remembering my June that's somewhat special ;) Two hilights of my June is shown here:) First is dinner at Pine's. Though it's only a little past mid June, i'm pretty sure the impression Foxtrot Social Nite left on me will definitely make it a reason why i wont forget this June! To Enhui who invited me: It's been great pleasure accompanying you to this dinner and Many thanks to your invitation, i now have fresh insight to armylife :)

|A thousand more reasons| I can't wait to get my driving license. I feel so spoilt being driven around by a few friends / colleagues and really want to return the favour soon! One gd thing about being able to drive is not having to worry about getting home late at night. How am i supposed to get home i if i want to watch planes late at night, if i want to take a night stroll along a breezy beach or if i want to statisfy a craving for dessert aft opening hours? -grin- This pic reminds me of some happy evenings of June! Havent been that happy for a long while :) Especially during plane watching, i was totally exhilarated!

p/s A lot about love opening soon! That could be the 3rd reason why my June's special.

a lot like love

|A Lot Like Love| I have been wanting to watch this movie for the longest time. Cant believe they started playing the trailers 2 months before! The anticipation is killing me :)

It takes some people years to fall in love at first sight… A LOT LIKE LOVE is a romantic comedy about destiny, connection and the frequently fuzzy line between chance friendships and happily ever after.

A LOT LIKE LOVE traces the relationship of Oliver (ASHTON KUTCHER) and Emily (AMANDA PEET) who meet on a flight from Los Angeles to New York seven years ago – each of them declaring that they couldn't be more wrong for each other. Life keeps bringing them back together over the next seven years, but the timing never seems right. As they struggle with their different partners, careers and breakups, they turn from casual acquaintances into trusted friends who can say anything to one another.

As they each search for love and a relationship that's not fated for disaster, it takes seven years for Oliver and Emily to figure out that maybe what they really have is something…a lot like love.

echt

Those of you with powerful vocab will know the word echt. :) echt by the way, is a german word. It's really upsetting how my new-found passion interest in german didnt last long. It was very much an inital euphoria. I was excited, but i'm just so distracted now. Work's one thing, but the other's the 4 books waiting to be read on my desk :)
Anyway, on echt. I was just thinking today how important it is for things to be real. Real to be believed, real to be felt, real to be appreciated and definitely real to create an impact. It's applicable to so many things if you think about it. It could refer to feelings like happiness or pain, it could refer to an experience, it could also refer to any form of art. Perhaps my love for photography can be explained by my appreciation for authenticity. Photographs can capture the genuine moment of things. I absolutely love the following photo for example. Is the baby about to smile? Hmm.. perhaps only the photographer knows.
I'm always thanking people i realise :) but nothing is gonna stop me from doing so again :) A BIG thank you to those who never fail to make me feel this indescribable elation in this purest form. It's trully heartfelt. You know who u are and I love you all :)
[-lol- i know some of u are going to think that one of those "they"s refer to some of my fave food. what to do? pple call me a "food person" for a reason -grin-]
