My eeepc now has windows xp! It's made perfect with a pretty blue butterfly profile icon and a butterfly desktop background. Thanks :)
As much as i enjoyed using ubuntu, i think i shall stick to xp for now. I totally heart and prefer winoffice more than star or open office :)
yay
I'm so grateful for my eeepc while my thinkpad is away:)

Sharing Expertise
I've been thinking that of the many ways a day can be made a gd one, somehow the common pathway is being happier than usual.
Something made u happy... and that something could range from something simple like seeing your favourite something or making one right decision, to something that has taken a long time to happen like seeing your hardwork at something finally becoming fruitful. (haha.. i know, i used so many somethings)
I find it particular interesting that something that has been quite consistent in making happy is learning something new. I realised that i like to be enlightened, showed something new or make an interesting observation. Y'know, learning is qt an amazing process... the transition from not knowing to knowing is somewhat irreversible. I used to tell my friends this, once u've understood the meaning of something, it is actually qt hard to unlearn it.
My friends and i have been talking abt the measure of a good tutor. The general consensus is the person has to be somewhat dedicated to teaching who enlightens you consistently and make the learning process enjoyable. I was just thinking... learning could take place in a pleasant context, but have u realised that when it happens in a nasty one the knowledge seems to linger a little longer?
This led me to think that perhaps some nastiness in retrospect is befitting of a good tutor too cos i realise that i do remember something from the some of the most demoralising tutorials.
I have come to realise that teaching someone something u're good at can be equally happifying. When i started to teach tuition, i was amazed by how much i could actually rmbr and how the very little i know can enlighten someone :)
It's qt amazing... the giving, receiving and sharing of good knowledge all have favourable outcome dont u think? :)

Favourites of Yunnan
I looked through my yunnan photos today and found that i still like some of the photos as much as the day i took them. The last time i posted yunnan pictures, the emphasis was on the trip and the pictures were posted in chronological fashion.
This time i shall post only selected photos :) I hope u find something u like too!
I love the vibrant colours.
My mom likes this photo maybe cos she took it. But i do look qt happy with the corn:)
In yunnan, i saw a lot of traditional costumes. Because 52 of the 56 tribes of China can be found there! Most of their traditional costumes are rather elaborate, bright and colourful :) I thought this pic has a rather interesting contrast btwn the bright pink and darker background.
I love Children! Naturally a large percentage of my favourite photos have them :)
In yunnan, the long bus rides meant there were multiple toilet stops. This has become a source of income for some of the locals. Most of the toilets will fall below ur expected hygiene standards, but u're expected to pay nevertheless.
I managed to take some photos of children who collect money from tourists.
Cat in a basket outside the toilet.
More Children
A granny walking her dogs. At the background is one of yunnan's most famous mountain 玉龙雪山:)
I was rather fortunate to be able to go to Shangri-la. If u havent already known, shangri-la means 心中的日月. I think the thought of it is qt nice :)
I heard the place is most beautiful when all the flowers bloom and there will be seas of red orange and yellow at different altitude. Sounds awesome!
Nothing is more me, than a macro shot. I love the vibrant colours of lantana :) I was fortunate that a bee stayed long enough for me to take this shot.
I dont think i have posted any of my photos in grayscale before :) I shall end with my first 3 of them :)
These photos never fail to remind me that traveling with a camera is a perfect combination. I'm really looking forward to the next time i travel! :)

Chinese New Year
Geared today with a camera, i was hoping to get some practice taking pictures of people. Unfortunately, I sillily forgot to adjust the ISO and some of my pictures turned out really grainy :(
But it's ok! Its the expression of the children that is priceless. At least, i learnt something today :)
I saw this cat sleeping in the carpark.. looks like it's having a restful afternoon nap :)
My Nephew and Nieces
This picture told me i should clean the lens
Shanyu was trying so hard to maintain his 1st position in the game that he was frowning!
His sister listening to music :)
His cousin playing ds lite too.
My cousin and his wife :)
