Ouch

I thought before how colours may be perceived differently btwn individuals. I could be seeing green differently from you and because i see it consistently this way, it's how i recognise it as 'green' and u recognise what u see as 'green'.

Interesting isnt it? I could be seeing 'orange' as your 'green' but no one would really know cos there's probably no actual way to compare.

The same goes for pain. Pain is really subjective and it is largely influenced by pain threshold and the ability to imagine the worst imaginable pain.

Sometimes it makes me wonder how painful trigeminal neuralgia is and of cos i never wish to find out too..

It's times when i am unsettledly in pain that i miss having something or someone to distract me of the pain.

Interestingly, pain is supposed to be a protective mechanism. It may be difficult to understand at first but imagine not being able to feel pain. The consequence can be qt disastrous.. Imagine not knowing u've had a fracture, not knowing u're having a gastric perforation, a ruptured ectopic pregnancy... You wouldnt be seeking help and would probably lose ur life.

That said, we always concentrate on its distressing impact. If only pain only arise necessarily.

Going Home

Today was an especially tiring day and i yearn so much to go home to rest my weary feet.

On my way back, i thought about how nice it'd be if there was a nice meal to look forward to at home, soft comfy sofa or bed to rest on, a pet to play with, a favourite bolster to hug or a person to snuggle beside.

That way, each day shall be perfect :)

Chinese Garden

When i was at Chinese Garden ystdy, i actually felt that the place was rather foreign and i attributed the feeling to the fact that i have never been there before.

I just realised that no, i have actually been to the garden during Mid-autumn Festival many many yrs ago when i was still a toddler!:) haha

Anyway, ystdy was another good day with my camera. I still find immense joy taking close-ups and i'm not very gd with landscape:) But it's ok! With some practise i should be able to make some improvements.

My love for close-up shots perhaps comes from my eye for details. It amazes me when something very small still carries so much details :)

Amazed

Pple who are around me long enough will realise that i like to use the word amaze and it appears that many things amaze me too :)

Ystdy while listening to old songs, this song was heartwarmingly familiar and nice:) Enjoy!

Amazed by Lonestar

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time, every time
I want to spend the whole night in your eyes

Science and Religion

I'm reading Angels and demons for the second time and i'm surprised by how little i rmbr about the plot when some parts of the text i read seem strangely familiar.

Nevertheless, i enjoy the occasional german still which i can understand! Unlike, Da vinci's code where there was a lot of french i couldnt parse.

Anyway, some of the lines left an impression and i shall write it here.

"Faith is universal but our specific methods of understanding it is arbituary. Some of us pray to Jesus, some of us go to Mecca, some of us study subatomic particles. In the end we are all just searching for truth, that which is greater than ourselves."

"Science tells me God must exist. My mind tells me i will never understand god. And my heart tells me i am not meant to."

On a completely different note, I'm really enjoying my elective. There is just too many things i like about it :)

On a seemingly related note, i'm glad tt i can have an inotropic effect :)

Lower Seletar Reservoir

If anyone asks me what i like to take photos of, i'll reflexly say children, flowers and food.

Ystdy i took my camera out for the second time and i managed to meet this family from India tt kindly allowed me to take photos of their child. They asked me to send them my photos! I hope they'll like them :)

Anyway, i really think it's qt a challenge to take photos of children. They're so active and their constant movement make it difficult for me to take crisp and sharp photos i like which i can qt easily achieve when i take stationary close ups :)

I have plenty to learn still! Perhaps 60mm and a flash will be my answer to what i currently like :)

Oh, lastly it's a pic of the resevoir with a passing train at sunset:)

Clearly, landscape isnt my forte!
