I'm incredibly tired after overnight ambulance run.
My brain isnt functionally optimally and i'm not learning things well! :(
The trouble with night duties is that they mess up your body clock and now i feel that i have day/night dissociation.
Today i also feel incredibly stupid, inadequate or just plain chui.
On another note, i'm actually very thankful for ambulance run, cos we hardly get the chance to learn abt and see what paramedics do first hand and ride the ambulance with them. To be honest, i was quite impressed by how much they know and how solid their knowledge is!
The paramedic i was with explained cardiac asthma to his trainee very well and it's amazing they learnt all that in their training which is significantly shorter in duration than our bio and physio lessons combined! Another thing this paramedic demonstrated was he was damn clear about what he is supposed to do. He knew how to delegate work, handle the patient physically, knew what to say and knew how to cope with pressure of the relatives on top of his role of a paramedic.
Despite feeling chui.. i'm actually looking forward to my next ambulance run on monday.
